Here it is...all finished.
I know it's not the fanciest bag in the group...but it's all mine and I finally tried out the selvedges.
I'm glad I 'cheated' and started yesterday...so I could be done before we left today at 3:30.
BTW I found that sewing the selvedges wasn't as impromptu as I thought...I have to watch that they were kept straight...mine were a little off...but not too much...I think I hid it well.
I'm glad I got rid of the last fabric selvedge that I had sewn on and exchanged it for the 'money selvedge'.
I didn't use a pattern, kind of 'winged' it from reading thru several different patterns. I wanted to add a zipper to the top...but I didn't have a zipper...so no dice.
Anyway, I do like the tote, it's small enough to use as a purse (minus the zipper). It came out a little smaller than I had expected...next time I'll make a larger one (if there is a next time)!
Here's a look at the inside...I added velcro to the wider pocket and made a double pocket in the other...for my reading glasses.
Well, that's all folks!
Will check out all the blogs again when I return home.
It's been a fun day!

ReplyDeleteHat's off to you! You may need to add a mouse trap- that money fabric looks pretty convincing.
ReplyDeleteWow what a gorgeous bag! I have been saving my selvedges ever since I heard of them being used, but I think it will still be a looooong time before I have enough to do anything like this with!

ReplyDeleteYour bag looks great! I love selvage projects. It seems like it would be a nice way to remember all the different fabrics and projects. I already save enough bits and pieces so I don't think I will be saving selvages any time soon lol.
