Wiggly Whimsy King Size

I finally finished my king quilt...all washed and cuddly, crinkly!  Gotta tell ya...not fun quilting it!  I just did straight lines vertically...really wanted to do a diagonal cross hatch...but maneuvering this size quilt was just too darn hard!
I  used a sheet for the back...but made it difficult for myself by adding borders all around.
I love the way it turned out...and I'm in the process of making shams to go with it.
You can get the tutorial for this quilt at http://www.modabakeshop.com/2012/08/wiggly-whimsy-quilt.html
The blocks are fun to make...and you can use SCRAPS!!

Thanks for stopping!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Easy peasy...........and you might win this Beam n Read for yourself...sorry, but due to the cost of shipping I cannot offer this outside the United States.  Sorry :(

I'll pick a winner with the Random Draw Generator on Monday 12 PM.

In honor of SewCalGal's Virtual Sew-cial - International Quilting Day
I am working on my KING SIZE SCRAP QUILT....here is a picture of the quilt under the machine...what a BEAR to quilt!!!

I have never made a king size quilt before, and believe me, at this time of my life I REALLY didn't need to decide to make one now...but I loved this Wiggly Whimsy Scrap Quilt from http://rubybluequilts.blogspot.com/ she started a quilt along a couple of months ago and I decided to make this quilt.

The reason I wanted to make a king size one was because I can never get a quilt large enough to fit my 4 poster king size bed...it has side rails and the comforters always are way too short...and I don't use a dust ruffle.  I loved the look of this scrappy quilt so I forged ahead.

Not difficult to make the top...but I decided to use a sheet for the back and add a border all around......what was I thinking??????  The back has given me nightmares.  Finally I have it together and am quilting my brains out...just straight line, but what a nightmare to get this thing under the machine!   I chose a 'fluffy' polyester batting because I didn't want it to be toooooo heavy!

After it is finished and washed I will post a picture...wish me luck!!

HAPPY QUILTING DAY!!!!  Don't forget to COMMENT for the giveaway.........
