Wiggly Whimsy King Size

I finally finished my king quilt...all washed and cuddly, crinkly!  Gotta tell ya...not fun quilting it!  I just did straight lines vertically...really wanted to do a diagonal cross hatch...but maneuvering this size quilt was just too darn hard!
I  used a sheet for the back...but made it difficult for myself by adding borders all around.
I love the way it turned out...and I'm in the process of making shams to go with it.
You can get the tutorial for this quilt at http://www.modabakeshop.com/2012/08/wiggly-whimsy-quilt.html
The blocks are fun to make...and you can use SCRAPS!!

Thanks for stopping!
Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. It's GORgeous and I LOVE your bed!! Did you use charm packs or treasured scraps? I laid out two charm packs and background fabric but haven't started it yet. Good job, girl :D

  2. Ha Ha...bed is some 40 yrs old...painted it white and distressed it about 5 yrs ago...love it, very high though, I use a small step stool to get in bed!

So...about the fabrics, I had lots of charms and layer cake leftovers...tried to use florals, dots in all colors...don't hesitate to make this quilt. The blocks go together FAST... Thanks for commenting, Anita

  3. Love your quilt - the borders on the backing are the cat's meow (or a dachshund's bark)!!! Totally fabulous!!! I can't believe you quilted the whole thing on your domestic machine - kudos to you all the way!!!

  5. The quilt looks fabulous. I love the borders you added to the back. I am in the process of making a Wiggly Whimsy, but mine will be the same width as the original with an additional 18 inches in length. I am not nearly as ambitious as you are.
